As part of its internationalization activities, TU Berlin is seeking to establish a stronger presence in North America. TU Berlin has been actively involved in the German Centre for Research and Innovation in New York since 2020. With its involvement in New York, TU Berlin acknowledges the importance of the North American research landscape to its researchers. The already successful collaboration with the DWIH in Sao Paulo serves as a template for establishing TU Berlin’s presence in New York.
As one of the major academic, economic and cultural hubs of the United States in the direct vicinity of many of the country’s top-tier institutions and universities, New York is an ideal place to assist our researchers in developing and maintaining new collaborations with American partners. Furthermore, DWIH New York serves TU Berlin as a base of operations for organizing events for the purpose of recruiting young researchers and advancing TU Berlin’s visibility in North America. TU Berlin researchers are invited to consult us on financing and collaboration options.
The DWIH model was developed as part of the internationalization policy of the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) and the Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and envisages Germany as a center of research represented at five strategic locations worldwide, providing a forum for international scientific cooperation.
