Official ceremony: 50 years of cooperation between Moscow State University of Civil Engineering and Technische Universität Berlin
Date: Friday, May 17, 2019, 2:30-4:45 pm
Location: H 2036
This year, Technische Universität Berlin celebrates the 50th anniversary of its cooperation with Moscow State University of Civil Engineering. In 1969, TU Berlin signed a cooperation agreement with MSUCE (at that time MISI). During this period, at the height of the Cold War, it was something of a political sensation for a major Soviet university to conclude a partnership agreement with a university in what was then West Berlin. The number of academic chairs involved has grown since then to include Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, History of Architecture, Computing in Civil Engineering, Building Materials, and Civil Engineering. The cooperation was extended in 2008 to include an agreement for the joint education of undergraduate students.
Contact between the two universities is currently particularly strong in the area of civil engineering. The event will provide a review of the history of the cooperation as well as an insight into current research being conducted at MSUCE and TUB.
The event will be held in German with partial consecutive translation from Russian. The final talk will be given in English.
