Research that Benefits Society

The Technische Universität Berlin is one of the leading research universities in Germany. We have seen a continuous rise in third-party funding and set up three clusters [1] thanks to the award of Excellence Strategy [2] funding. We also rank highly in international league tables [3] and have received numerous prizes and accolades [4] including Alexander von Humboldt Professorships, Leibniz Awards and grants from the European Research Council. TU Berlin's research activities are structured around six areas of specialization [5] and informed by our competencies and social responsibilities. Our international reputation and special profile as a university bringing together technical subjects with the humanities, economics, and social and planning sciences provide a firm basis for interdisciplinary research. This takes place most notably in number of successful collaborative projects [6].
