Please note that this fee is not refundable. The registration fee is deducted from the overall course fee.
Payment: Candidate students will receive an invoice for the net fee four working days after they have successfully completed registration, once an evaluation of the documents they submitted and their accommodation requests has been processed. Participants must then pay the full fee quoted in the invoice within a maximum of 7 working days of receiving the invoice. Payment can be done via credit card or bank transfer.
A place in the TU Berlin Summer or Winter University can only be guaranteed if the full fee has been paid on time. Please note that some banks will charge transaction fees for payments that originate outside of the European Union and that credit cards might also charge an additional fee.

Advice for applicants regarding the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak
Applications for the TU Berlin Summer University 2020 currently remain open for applicants from all countries. Any changes to this status will be posted here.
We ask applicants who are worried that their travel plans could become affected by the Coronavirus outbreak to notify us of their specific concerns and circumstances at the point of registration (or as soon as problems come up, if already registered).
We will look at the options open to you, and will make one of the following recommendations:
- To cancel
- To register for (or switch your registration to) a waiting list spot, instead of a registered spot (more info below)
- To wait
Our cancellation policy will apply as usual to everyone. However, as mentioned in our general cancellation clause above, we can sometimes consider a reduction in cancellation fees in exceptional circumstances. So just get in touch and we will provide you with a personalized cancellation date based on what costs have already been incurred with third party providers as a result of your booking.
We will consider the two following scenarios as fully mitigating circumstances for cancellation of the course due to Coronavirus, whereupon we would issue a full refund of the course fee (minus the €60 registration fee), regardless of cancellation date, plus as many costs from third party providers as we can recover:
- The German government issues a travel ban that prohibits your travel to Germany
- Your country of residence issues a travel ban that prohibits your travel to Germany
*Waiting list spots: Switching to the waiting list might be an option for you. Once you have a waiting list spot, you will no longer be subject to cancellation fees (but beforehand, you are, including the registration fee). While on the waiting list, your spot on the course is not guaranteed, and we reserve the right to fill the remaining spots on the course with definite participants.
Personal information: All your personal information will be protected and will not be passed to third party entities. Personal information will only be used by the TU Berlin Summer & Winter University for statistics and records.
Program management: The TU Berlin Summer & Winter University reserves the right to cancel a course if the minimum number of participants per course is not reached. The minimum number of participants is generally 6 persons (excluding TU Berlin students), but this varies depending on the nature of the course. If the minimum participant numbers are not met, the enrolled students will be notified and given the opportunity to either change course without additional cost, or to get a full reimbursement.
Registration Portal: TU Berlin Summer & Winter University will not be held liable for any technical errors in price calculations in the registration portal.
TU Berlin Students: To see pricing and enrollment instructions for existing TU Berlin students, please log-in and refer to the menu tab Registration for TU Berlin Students.
Liability, Cultural Program: The TU Berlin Summer & Winter University / TUBS GmbH will not be held liable for damages that occur while attending the cultural program activities offered. This includes, but is not limited to the orientation/welcome activities, tours, sporting activities, excursions and farewell activities.
