Decrease in Working Hour

Any reduction to the contractually agreed upon monthly working hours requires your consent (unless your current working hours were only guaranteed for a limited time). In accordance with the minimum working hours of 40 hours/month set out in TV Stud III, a decrease in working hours is only permissible for official reasons or at personal request.

Disciplinary Warning (Circular Sen Inn II, No. 25/1983)

Dissatisfaction with your performance or behavior may be expressed in a written or verbal warning after a hearing with you has taken place. The warning will be added to your personnel file. Generally, an employee’s contract is only terminated after a warning has been issued. Should you find yourself in such a situation, you should contact the Staff Council.

Display Screen Work (TV “Infotechnik”)

The collective agreement “Infotechnik” and European directive EU-RL 90/270 prescribe protection measures for employees who work with display screens.

Duration of the Employment Relationship (Section 121 BerlHG)

As a rule, student assistants are initially hired for four semesters. Shorter contracts are often arranged for positions arranged within the scope of research and external funding projects. However, the following also applies here: If funds are available, a contract extension until the maximum duration of employment can be granted upon request (see circular from Human Resources dated 25.04.2007)
