Way of Working and Structures
It is the goal of the ZTG to work on interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research projects in close cooperation with the subject areas at different faculties. Therefore, we place great importance on building a TU Berlin-wide network, establishing the ZTG as a provider of methods, and participating in university committees. As a matter of course, we also regard the expansion of the network, both at national and international level, as one of our key tasks.
The requirement of involving diverse perspectives in the research work is also reflected in the ZTG’s working structures. Developing trust-based participatory structures for strategic orientation and the daily research work at the ZTG is a matter of immense importance to us. Autonomous research areas, internal career and advancement opportunities, the project and division management committee, regular strategy seminars as well as personnel development meetings with each staff member belong to this.
The ZTG endeavors to promote the advancement of researchers and (academic) careers, support the development of abilities, and facilitate a better work-life balance. An important focus in this regard is the promotion of women and young researchers.
The culture of thoughtful discussion within the research areas ensures compliance with the rules of good academic practice (see TU Berlin's guidelines, which are based on those of the German Research Foundation).
