Joint China-Germany Workshop on “Sustainable Mobility and Smart Cities” with the Chongqing Science and Technology Commission (China) on 03.11.2018

On 03.11.2018, the Joint China-Germany Workshop on “Sustainable Mobility and Smart Cities” between Chongqing Science and Technology Commission(CSTC) and research unit “Mobility and Space” of ZTG at TU Berlin was held in the Zentrum Technik und Gesellschaft. Mutual research interests and cooperation instruments were discussed during the workshop.

A Chinese delegation with 14 experts from the city of Chongqing joined this workshop, mainly from CSTC and other institutes like Chongqing Hi-Tech Incubation Center, SPIC Yuanda Environmental-Protection Engineering Co., Ltd. and the Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Gabriele Wendorf, the Scientific Director of Zentrum Technik und Gesellschaft (ZTG), first gave the welcome address and a short introduction about ZTG. The welcome speech showed the history and structure of TU Berlin as well and strength of ZTG in transdisciplinary research. Then Mr. Chen Jun, the Deputy Director of CSTC, introduced the city of Chongqing and the CSTC.   

As the host, Dr. Wulf-Holger Arndt gave an introduction about the research unit “Mobility and Space” and a presentation about the Sustainable Mobility and Smart Cities in Germany. He presented some former projects in China, Iran and Europe. The most important section of the workshop is discussion about further cooperation. Both sides exchanged their understanding and mutual research interests. Mr. Lu Lu from ZTG also organized this workshop and did the interpretation for the whole workshop.
