MaaS Inclusive – Avoiding Exclusion in Digitally Based Mobility Services

New forms of mobility such as car sharing, bike sharing, scooter sharing, shared taxis, on-demand buses or other demand-controlled mobility services, especially in the context of MaaS (mobility as a service), are increasingly being realized as digitally based mobility services(dvVa). These services offer users a larger and more flexible selection of traffic modes and routes than traditional mobility services. The digital communication of services is an essential feature of these dvVa. This is the only way to enable spatial flexibility and cost-effectivity for these services. On the other hand, there is a risk of excluding those who do not participate in the digital sphere from using these new mobility products. The more these new types of mobility penetrate the mobility sector, the more significant the potential exclusions of these group(s) become. These potential exclusions must be analyzed and specifically addressed in order to counteract them and to allow all citizens to benefit from these digitally mediated transport offers.
