Carlos Ayon


After graduating from High school, Carlos Ayon studied his bachelor’s in Mechatronics engineering in Mexico until 2014. Then, he worked for two years as an Energy Engineer in Northern Mexico. Subsequently, he enrolled in TU Berlin to study a master in Energy Management. He worked as an intern for the project Sector-Coupling –Systems for Smart Grids at ZTG and as a student assistent from July 2019 until December 2020 for the project Urban Rail.

High School CETYS Universidad, Tijuana International Baccalaureate (10th to 12th grade). I obtained the IB Diploma and did a monograph on how the implementation of electric vehicles would reduce air pollution and green-house gases.
Professional Experience

Constructora Makro S.A. de C.V., Ciudad Juárez Engineering for the installation of the power, instrumentation and control system of a Natural Gas compression station in collaboration with IEnova (Sempra Energy).
02/2016- 01/2017
Constructora Makro S.A. de C.V., Tijuana Project Engineer, with special focus on technical design and financial evaluation of renewable energy systems. Work included research on technological advancements related to the construction industry for internal use in the company.

Photovoltaic system for residence, Tijuana 3 kW grid-tie solar PV installation. I managed the whole process, which consisted on the design, purchase, importation, installation and commissioning of the system.
08/2014- 05/2015
Center for Renewable Energy Studies (CEENER), Mexicali Located at the UABC’s Graduate School; I worked on the redesign, testing and characterization of a solar tracker for dual axis systems.
06/2014- 07/2014
UNAM-IER (Renewable Energy Institute von UNAM), Temixco Summer Internship on the development of an amplifier circuit for a radiometer of unidirectional, direct and ample measure. I mostly worked through simulation on NI Multisim
11/2013- 05/2014
CEENER, Mexicali
For my University’s Professional Social Service, I worked on the debugging and development of sensors for the network monitoring system of a Micro-grid (located in Puertecitos, Baja California).

Fraunhofer ISE, Germany Student Internship on “Simulation of the communications system of large-scale concentrated photovoltaic power plants”.
