Dr. Houshmand E. Masoumi
Dr. Houshmand Masoumi is DFG project leader and senior researcher at Center for Technology and Society of Technische Universität Berlin. He holds PhD in urban planning and several years of work experience in civil engineering in industry and management section. His interests include the interplay of urban planning and urban transportation in several regions of the world with strong focus on developing countries, particularly the Middle East and North Africa. From a methodological view, apart from descriptive conceptualization of spatial patterns with the purpose of numerical analyses, statistical analysis and modeling including but not limited to discrete choice modeling is of his special interest. The topical content of his studies include the following:
- Urban travel behavior research
- Urban land use/transportation interactions and modeling
- Human perceptions, lifestyles, and preferences regarding mobility
- Residential location choices
- Urban sprawl and transformations
