Johanna Pohl

Johanna’s research deals with the ecological impacts of energy systems. She is an engineer in waste management / contaminated sites treatment and studied at the Technical University in Dresden and at the Dokuz Eylül Üniversitisi in Izmir, Turkey. During her studies, she worked for the ‘Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit’ on basic energy supply in the Global South. Johanna realized her master thesis at the ‘Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum’ where she analyzed the ecological effects of heat supply in Germany. Within the research group “Digitalization and Sustainability”, she examines the shifts of energy flows and their ecological impacts through an increasing digitalization of services.
