Dr. Mohsen Fallah Zavareh
Mohsen Fallah Zavareh has been an assistant professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at Kharazmi University, Iran, since 2014, after receiving a PhD in Transportation Engineering and having been working on hands-on projects and accumulating extensive knowledge in transportation engineering in both private and public sectors for around 10 years.
Since that time, being connected to a group of highly experienced psychologists, Mohsen was given a very unique and profitable opportunity to become familiar with theories and concepts in psychology and social cognition that are relevant to the behavioral change in transportation, and to practically bring them into his research works. Mohsen is currently an overseas member of Transportation Research Group at NTNU Norway, since 2018.
Mohsen is interested in the social environment factors underlying specific transport behaviors and choices. The focus behaviors of interest have been mainly promotion of sustainable transportation, as well as road safety. Mohsen is also working on the contextual differences in social cognition in transportation between the countries, through setting up cross-culture studies. Therefore, Mohsen’s works are among the scarce first-hand evidence-based resources in his field of interest in his country where there is a lack of research on social aspects of mobility and transport.
